We’re looking for an Engineering Co-op with the technical background and training to join our growing Product Development team, which is responsible for designing, developing, and engineering products that enable medical isotope production for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. The position will support product improvement and new product development, and ensure that product system specifications meet industry, customer and Telix-ARTMS’s rigorous design and reliability requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to develop, manufacture, document, and test prototypes and new products. Projects include a variety of:

  • Electronics or electromechanical bench-top assembly and testing
  • Generating engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Manufacturing and assembly of electrical and mechanical products or prototypes
  • Participate in the design of innovative and realistic solutions to various engineering challenges

Education and Experience

  • 3rd/4th year Electronics/Manufacturing/Mechatronics Engineering or Engineering Physics student, or equivalent experience
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting electronic circuits, PCBs, and electrical schematics
  • Experience working with controllers (e.g., PLCs, microcontrollers, etc.) and programming languages such as C, Python etc.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical manufacturing, assembly, wiring, and control systems integration
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools such as drills, saws, soldering irons, wire crimpers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic work environment
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • (preferred) Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems, SCADA, or similar communication protocols
  • (preferred) 1+ years of direct or indirect experience with PET cyclotrons or in radioisotope production
