About the Role

Job Description

THIS JOB ADVERT IS FOR INVITED CANDIDATES ONLY FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2025.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ENTER THE PASSWORD YOUR RECRUITER HAS PROVIDED.

DURATION: 10 weeks over Summer 2026

LOCATION: Derby, Bristol, Solihull

SALARY: £22,500 (pro rata) + £500 joining bonus to support with moving and hybrid working

At Rolls-Royce we are proud to be a business that has truly helped to shape the modern world and are committed to always being a force for progress; powering, protecting and connecting people everywhere.

By joining Rolls-Royce in an Emerging Talent programme, you'll have the opportunity to work on world-class solutions, supported by a culture that believes individuality is our greatest strength, and all perspectives, experiences and backgrounds help us innovate and enable our high-performance culture.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE PROGRAMME

We’re one of few companies with the breadth of technology and expertise to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges. And on your 10-week internship with us, you'll get the chance to experience it first-hand.

You’ll experience one area of our business, where you might experience working in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, or service support, among many more. It means you might find yourself doing anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping develop exciting new demonstrator engines like our UltraFan. Or using data, technology, and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment, test marine automation software, or keep our company cyber-safe.

Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you’ll build a wealth of new skills with the help of our experts – people who are as invested in your success as you are.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Any STEM degree or Business degree, with subjects directly related to our work. Or a joint honours degree that combines a STEM subject with another, like business or economics.

You’ll also need to be as passionate as we are about the future of technology. You’ll care about putting safety, people, and always doing the right thing, first. If you’re open-minded, curious, and agile in your approach to work and your career development, we’ll give you the support and encouragement to make a difference, in our business and on the world.

You must be flexible about where you work and be open to travelling between locations. We see hybrid working as a way to balance and flex our time between the office, home, or another remote working place. Everyone is expected on site, on average, three days per week. But specific arrangements will vary from role to role and gig to gig. We encourage and support flexible working arrangements where we can.

Our vision is to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that shaped our history continues into our future. Our multi-year transformation programme aims to turn Rolls-Royce into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Join us, and it can be your future vision too.

Rolls-Royce are committed to being a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory workplace where individuality is valued, diverse perspectives fuel innovation, and everyone can thrive.
