Primary Purpose
Provides routine administrative support with moderate supervision. Selects from established options to coordinate scheduling, communications, and basic documentation tasks to support efficient team operations.
The Accounting & Finance and Customer Operations Internship Program is a hands-on internship offers that allows students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real‑world business environment while gaining industry experience at the nation’s largest natural gas distribution utility.

Program Requirements
- Enrollment in a four-year university Bachelor’s or Master’s program
- Junior or Senior standing
- Preferred majors: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Quantitative Analysis, Mathematics/Statistics (other business-related majors may be considered)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates meeting logistics, including invitations, agendas, room setup, and basic technology checks.
- Monitors shared inboxes, routes inquiries appropriately, and drafts routine responses.
- Prepares simple reports, spreadsheets, or slide decks by compiling data and formatting provided information
- Processes routine expenses, invoices, and reimbursement requests according to established procedures.
- Maintains and updates organized filing systems, contact lists, and distribution lists.
- Schedules multi‑participant meetings, coordinates room availability, and resolves basic calendar conflicts.
- Coordinates with vendors for routine office services such as supply delivery or equipment maintenance.
- Identifies minor process issues (e.g., missing forms, outdated templates) and suggests improvements based on existing guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Required: Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required: Administrative Process Analysis - Evaluates workflows, procedures, and information flows to identify inefficiencies, streamline operations, and recommend improvements.
- Required: Operational Data Interpretation - Analyzes quantitative and qualitative operational data to identify trends, diagnose problems, and inform decision-making.
- Required: Policy and Procedure Development - Develops or updates administrative policies and procedural guides that enhance consistency, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Required: Cross‑Functional Coordination - Facilitates information exchange and process alignment across departments to support integrated operations and consistent service delivery.
- Required: Strategic Problem Solving - Identifies root causes of operational challenges, evaluates alternative solutions, and recommends actions that improve organizational efficiency.
