About the Role

The Opportunity:

As part of the Gold Fields Graduate Program, you will complete rotations across four sites over a three-year period, including Agnew, Granny Smith, Gruyere, St Ives, and (where relevant) the Perth office. Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside members of our highly experienced technical team, gaining hands-on exposure to the gold mining environment. You’ll develop and demonstrate a set of core competencies, ensuring well-rounded capability across all key operational and technical areas. This program offers genuine, real-world mining experience and the opportunity to see how your foundational university studies translate into practical application.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current manual driver’s licence
  • Completed your Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering by end 2026
  • Vacation experience in a mining environment is ideal, but not essential

 

About the Role:

  • Learn to optimise mine performance by analysing data, improving processes, and managing costs, equipment, and resources.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of mining methods including underground long hole and sub level open stoping, room & pillar stoping, drill & Blast, backfill, ventilation mine planning in addition to conventional open pit practices.
  • Develop proficiency in industry leading software such as Deswik, Datamine, Maptek Vulcan, Ventsim and Shotplus
