He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Community Wellbeing department has an exciting opportunity for a graduate to explore the full breadth of library services and community delivery.

• Rotations across Libraries & Learning Services, Programme Delivery and Community Impact, offering a well-rounded and community-driven experience.
• Hands-on involvement in key areas including Mobile Libraries, Central City Hub, Research & Heritage Services, Public Engagement, and Collections & Technical Solutions.
• Contribute to meaningful projects through field research and data analysis that support literacy, inclusion and wellbeing across Auckland’s diverse communities.

Your Rotations

Your rotation may consist of:

• Community safety, public health & strategic drug harm reduction.
• Data analysis and field research across communities.
• Analysis of regional trends relating to projects and initiatives within Auckland City.

We’re looking for energetic and curious people-focused graduates who love connecting with others and bring a digitally savvy mindset to everything they do.

We welcome graduates from a wide range of disciplines. What matters most is your curiosity, your willingness to learn, and your enthusiasm for gaining hands-on experience in community-focused work. 

You must have:

• Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship
• Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s degree
