Opportunity
This internship is an opportunity to collaborate with the IMEC Information Technology department and respective business units pertaining to various computer science tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following focus areas:

  • Development

  • Data management

  • Cybersecurity

  • Infrastructure and end-user support

  • Project management

Real World Experiences
The internship will comprise of the following scope of work:

  1. Development

    • Support development platform as required.

    • Review code and scripts for improvements.

    • Editing Salesforce Lightning pages and page layouts.

  2. Data

    • Creates data reports within the CRM platform.

    • Management of the SQL infrastructure.

    • Research using cloud infrastructure for data analytics and insights.

  3. Cybersecurity

    • Daily tuning and rule creation of the SEIM platform.

    • Monitoring of the IMEC end-user workstation environment.

    • Account management (creation, deletion, maintenance) as required.

    • Monthly patching of IMEC infrastructure.

  4. Infrastructure and end-user support

    • Daily monitoring and management of the IT ticket queue.

    • Works with customers daily to resolve IT incidents and requests.

    • Inventory and support the asset management lifecycle for all IT equipment.

  5. Project Management

    • Daily monitoring, reporting, and management of Kanban workstream.

    • Gather requirements for new projects; populate project story cards as needed.

    • Work with IT Leadership on agile workstream backlog and prioritization.

    • Reports on Kanban and Agile workstream performance and identifies opportunities for improvement.

  • Shadow a Technical Specialist on a manufacturing-related technical project. 

  • Shadow a Regional Manager on a manufacturing-related technical project.

  • Tour of a local manufacturing facility.

  • Internal presentation to IMEC Leadership

    • Expectations pertaining to starting your IMEC internship.

    • Description of your work focus and the experience you gained.

    • Report out of assigned project.

    • Key takeaways and next steps.
