About the Role
Job purpose/description
One of the students will be searching the department’s extensive rock and mineral collection for Native American artifacts that were collected by CSS community members (Sisters, students, alumni, etc.) in the 20th century. Given our mission of preparing students for responsible living and our commitment to the values of respect and stewardship, we need to locate the remaining artifacts in the collection so they can be repatriated to the Native American communities in the region. The other position directly addresses our value of stewardship and it is necessary for chemical safety and compliance. This person will be inventorying and safely storing chemicals in our chemical stockroom.

Job duties
  • Survey and catalog rock collection
  • Maintain chemical/rock collection inventory
  • General chemistry lab upkeep/cleaning
  • Label and store non-hazardous chemicals properly
  • Assist with chemical lab safety compliance

Required qualifications

  • Must be a full-time undergraduate student at CSS
  • Federal work study eligibility is required                    
  • Detailed oriented, independent worker
