About the Role
Auria is seeking an Sustainability Engineering summer intern to join the team at our manufacturing facility in Old Fort, NC.  Our opening is designed to give the student the opportunity to jump start their career by working closely with our engineering team to gain hands on experience in a manufacturing setting.  The student will complete a defined summer project and community service project along with participating in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen events.  The student will travel and report out their summer activities to our executive team.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Complete Summer Project and Community Service activities
  • Participate in comprehensive evaluation and investigation of manufacturing product waste streams to determine improvement opportunities. 
  • Analyzing finished goods catalog and processes to quantify unavoidable or inherent scrap, then developing a forecast and tracking workbook to compare expected versus actual waste numbers.
  • Participate in Kaizen events
  • Travel and present summer project to executive team
 QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be actively pursuing degree in Engineering (environmental, industrial, science, sustainability or similar)
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Office
