Description
Attack Theatre: General Management Internship Job Description
Founded in 1994 by Michele de la Reza and Peter Kope, Attack Theatre fuses modern dance, original live music, and interdisciplinary art forms to create engaging dance performances. We currently operate with a staff of two artistic directors, an executive director, seven administrative employees, and a company of dancers, teaching artists, musicians, and designers working interdependently.
General Management Internships at Attack Theatre are ideal for individuals interested in the operations and administration of a dynamic performing arts organization. Due to the small, collaborative nature of the staff, this position provides a valuable learning experience not typically available in more compartmentalized internships. Interns will gain insight into the inner workings of a growing nonprofit arts organization that is rooted locally and engaged globally.
This is a full-time, unpaid, hybrid position with remote and in-person responsibilities. The staff and artists work primarily at Attack Theatre’s new headquarters in the heart of Lawrenceville.
Attack Theatre is a Pittsburgh-based dance company that creates work at the intersection of art and community, resulting in programs that are personal, authentic, welcoming, and fearless. Under the artistic direction of Peter Kope and Michele de la Reza, the company maintains a commitment to remain curious in our investigation of new ideas and productions; to collaborate through deliberate, interdisciplinary partnerships; and to connect with local and global communities, providing accessible, creative learning opportunities. Attack Theatre’s new home in the heart of Lawrenceville offers performances, classes, and community events, and strives to be an inclusive epicenter of dance, learning, and community partnerships. Rooted in reflection, investigation, and imagination, Attack Theatre conducts hundreds of arts education programs in school and community settings each year, supporting creative learning and wellness for participants of all ages.
