About the Role

Description

The LPC Intern provides supervised mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, families, or groups. The intern works under a licensed supervisor to develop clinical skills, complete required supervised hours, and deliver ethical, evidence-based care.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments and psychosocial evaluations for clients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide individual, group, couples, or family therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and case consultations.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions when needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with professional guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and medical staff.
  • Attend training, workshops, and staff meetings to enhance clinical skills.

  

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and in the process of pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related mental health field.
  • State approval as an LPC Intern / LPC-Associate (or eligible for intern status).
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC, LPC-MH, LMFT, CSW-PIP, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist).
  • Knowledge of counseling theories and therapeutic techniques.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.


  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical counseling, practicum, or internship.
  • Training in modalities such as CBT, trauma-informed therapy, play therapy, or family therapy.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
