About the Role


Purpose  

Citadel Aviaition, LLC. is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern who is studying Mechanical Engineering. As an Engineering Intern, you will develop products, processes, systems, services, or scientific applications using engineering concepts and research techniques. 

 

Essential Job Functions

As an Engineering Intern at an Aircraft VVIP completion center, your primary responsibilities would include the following:

  • Utilizes knowledge of 2D & 3D software (AutoCAD/ SolidWorks), engineering practices and mathematics to complete engineering drawings and bill of materials. Prepare engineering drawing updates as required. 
  • Creates graphic representations of individual parts, part assemblies and aircraft installations. Checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the entire installation.
  •  Creation of engineering documents using MS Office software. 
  • Interact with other department personnel and engineering support organizations.  
  • Adheres to company policies, safety standards, and maintains good housekeeping. 
  • Accurately complete all required time keeping records. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

REQUIRED

  • Candidates must have completed at least their Sophomore year of college and are majoring in Mechanical Engineering.  
  • Must be creative, analytical, and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

DESIRED

  • Interest in the Aviation industry. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This temporary internship does not have any supervisory responsibilities.


Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Engineering Project Group Leader.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience.
  • Experience with Miscrosoft Office.
  • The desire to positively contribute the Interior Completion Design team.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and/or Engineering related discipline. 
  • Effective research and communication skills. 
  • Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity and dedication to getting results. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently. 
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units. 
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.   

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
  • The work surface is stable (flat).
