Job Summary

The IT Intern functions under the direct supervision of an IT analyst, project manager, engineer, trainer or other professional staff member. A preceptor will be assigned to facilitate the development of knowledge, skills, and critical thinking associated with Information Technology competencies. IT Interns may be placed with other healthcare professionals to optimize learning experiences specific to Healthcare IT. The IT Intern is a student who is currently enrolled in a technical or undergraduate college program in computer science, engineering, informatics, data analytics or another related field. The IT Intern performs a variety of tasks within the scope of defined practice under the direct supervision of their assigned preceptor.  

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Licensure or other certifications: Current student enrolled in a technical or undergraduate college program required. 

  • Educational Requirements: High School Diploma. Active enrolled Student who is majoring in computer science, engineering, informatics, data analytics or another related field with a GPA of 3.0 or above required. Proof of enrollment in an approved/accredited college or technical program required prior to the start of the internship program required.  

  • Minimum Experience: Demonstrated academic experience associated with Information Technology course work and content.
