Landscape Management Internship

Position Summary

We are seeking motivated students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the commercial landscape industry. This internship provides exposure to multiple areas of the business, allowing interns to learn how field operations, client management, and business development work together to support successful landscape services.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals and gain practical knowledge of landscape operations while developing skills that support long-term career growth within the industry

This internship is designed to provide meaningful real-world experience in both field and management environments.

Key Learning Opportunities

Interns may gain exposure to the following areas:

Field Operations

  • Observe and support landscape maintenance operations
  • Learn service standards and operational workflows
  • Gain exposure to equipment and landscape maintenance practices

Irrigation

  • Learn irrigation system basics and troubleshooting
  • Understand water management and system efficiency
  • Observe irrigation inspections and adjustments

Field Management

  • Shadow field managers and supervisors
  • Observe crew coordination and service planning
  • Learn quality control and site inspection practices

Account Management

  • Participate in property walks and site evaluations
  • Observe client communication and relationship management
  • Gain exposure to enhancement planning and service recommendations

Design & Estimating

  • Observe project planning and estimating processes
  • Assist with measurements or basic takeoffs when applicable
  • Learn how proposals are developed for landscape projects

Business Development

  • Gain exposure to sales strategy and proposal development
  • Learn how new client relationships are developed
  • Observe how opportunities move from prospecting to project execution

Internship Project

During the internship, students may work on a small project or observation related to their experience. At the conclusion of the internship, interns may present their insights and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program
  • Preferred majors may include Landscape Management, Horticulture, Business, Construction Management, or related fields
  • Interest in the landscape or green industry
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and participate in both field and office environments
