About the Role

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated HR Intern to support staffing and employee engagement efforts at Aramark at Virgina Tech. This position plays a key role in supporting our partnerships with non-profit organizations (NPOs), ensuring smooth food and beverage (F&B) operations, and helping create a positive work environemtn for all event staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of event staff and NPO volunteers for football games and large events.
  • Support coordination between HR and Operations to ensure all shifts are properly staffed.
  • Help develop and execute employee engagement strategies that foster a positive and inclusive work culture during events.
  • Track attendance, performance, and engagement metrics for event staff and NPO groups.
  • Assist in managing communication and logistics for NPO group participation in food and beverage operations.
  • Help ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal HR policies. 
  • Support training sessions on customer service, food safety, and event day procedures. 
  • Provide on site-supporting during events to help with HR needs, including check-ins, issue resolution, and morale boosting activites. 
  • Assist in post-event reporting and feedback collection to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Buisness Administration or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in HR operations, employee engagement, and event management. 
  • Excellent organizational communication and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. 
  • Available to work weekends and evenings during major college events and football games. 
  • Experience working with non-profts, in food and beverage or in event staffing is a plus.
