What You’ll Do

The Digital Merchandising Intern supports the Digital Merchandising team in optimizing the online shopping experience across a portfolio of apparel and accessories brands. This role assists with daily site operations, product merchandising, and performance analysis to help improve product discoverability, conversion, and overall site performance. The intern will support site QA, product presentation, and merchandising execution while helping analyze performance data and competitive trends. This role also contributes to maintaining accurate product information, identifying opportunities to improve onsite merchandising, and supporting optimization initiatives across navigation, category pages, search, and product detail pages.

What You’ll Be Working On

  1. Support Day-to-Day Site Merchandising Operations
  • Conduct daily QA of site navigation, category pages (PLPs), and product pages (PDPs) to ensure accuracy, functionality, and strong customer experience
  • Assist in maintaining product categorization and merchandising placements
  • Review onsite search results to identify gaps or opportunities to improve product discoverability
  • Assist in managing and optimizing filter ranking and sort logic to improve product discoverability
  • Support social tagging efforts by tagging products within onsite social feeds to enhance shoppability and engagement
  • Flag site issues such as missing assets, incorrect product information, or broken links

 

  1. Optimize Product Presentation
  • Ensure products are merchandised with accurate descriptions, attributes, imagery, and product data
  • Utilize AI tools to generate or enhance product assets when imagery is limited
  • Help maintain consistent product storytelling and visual presentation across the site
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities to improve product discovery and increase basket size

 

  1. Competitive & Market Research
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis of peer brands and retailers
  • Provide insights on industry trends and best practices in digital merchandising

 

  1. Analyze Performance Data
  • Monitor key performance metrics such as product views and sell-through
  • Assist in identifying merchandising opportunities based on performance trends
  • Support optimization efforts for product placement and merchandising strategies

 

Must Haves:

  • Interest in eCommerce & digital merchandising
  • Interest in fashion, retail, and consumer trends
  • Analytical mindset and curiosity about data
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Currently enrolled university student.
  • Available to work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Able to work onsite in our NYC office.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and make things happen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortability in a high-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite.
  • Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex tasks.

 

Primary Location Salary Range

The hourly rate for an undergraduate student intern in New York is $18.
The hourly rate for a graduate student intern in New York is $22.
