Position Overview:  

The Field Engineer Intern will play a vital role in supporting the on-site engineering and construction management of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This hands-on internship offers exposure to solar and battery energy storage system installations while working alongside experienced supervisors and industry professionals. Interns will develop practical skills in project execution, field coordination, and stakeholder engagement. 


Essential Functions:  

  • Assist in daily site operations and field coordination under experienced supervisors
  • Collect and track daily production, safety data, and construction progress
  • Help coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and materials
  • Support project equipment management and maintain inventory of tools and supplies
  • Prepare agendas and take notes for daily and monthly meetings (e.g., Plan of the Day, Monthly Manager Meetings)
  • Attend weekly project coordination meetings with engineers, subcontractors, and owner representatives
  • Engage in hands-on field activities to gain exposure to trade-level work
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders
  • Contribute to safety initiatives and ensure a safe working environment
  • Travel and relocate as needed to active project sites
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Field Engineering Manager


Qualifications:  

  • Currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in renewable energy, EPC project delivery, and field engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel to and live near active project sites
  • Valid driver’s license required

 

Working Conditions: 

  • 100% travel required; projects are nationally based 
  • Construction Site Environment – Ability to lift 50+ lbs., crawl, bend, reach, and climb; exposed to noise, dust, and weather  
  • Office/Shop Environment – Some standing, lifting, and computer work  
  • Exposure to all weather conditions for extended periods

Hourly / Pay Range: $20.00

 

Location: Kingdom City, MO or Huntsville, TX (Additional locations may be discussed)
