Position Summary

Forgen is seeking students pursuing degrees in Occupational Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields—along with other interested candidates—to join our project locations for internship opportunities.

This internship provides hands-on experience supporting workplace safety initiatives within a construction environment. The Safety Intern assists in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture by helping implement safety policies and procedures, conducting site observations, and supporting compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Administration

  • Update project safety plan and procedures.
  • Maintain documentation to improve safety performance.
  • Track program effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Assist with regulatory reporting, recordkeeping, and audits.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and integrate into the project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with various agencies (e.g., OSHA).

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain safety dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Compile monthly stats for site management.
  • Tracking leading indicators such as observations, training, and inspections.
  • Support analysis of trends to identify risk areas.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates must be working toward a BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This office and field hybrid role requires frequent computer use and effective communication. Site work may involve extended periods of standing or walking and required PPE, with potential exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven terrain, and extreme weather.
