About the Role

Description

The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with preparation, documentation, and basic technical activities while learning company standards, workflows, and system architecture. The role is intended to provide exposure to real projects without introducing delivery risk. Interns work under direct supervision of engineering staff and are expected to progressively understand how physical security systems are installed, configured, tested, and supported.  

Requirements

Major Roles and Responsibilities:


Project Support:

  • Assist engineers with staging equipment, labeling hardware, loading firmware, and preparing configuration environments.
  • Organize project materials and maintain orderly workspace and documentation records.
  • Observe installation and commissioning activities to understand workflow and procedures.

Testing Assistance:

  • Assist with guided testing of devices and system components.
  • Record test results and report discrepancies to supervising engineer.
  • Help verify field conditions match drawings and scope documents.

Documentation:

  • Update drawings, notes, and configuration records as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress and configuration details.

Learning & Development:

  • Participate in training sessions and shadow engineers during project execution.
  • Learn system architecture basics including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing technical education or equivalent interest in a technology field.
  • Basic computer and networking familiarity are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly.

Additional Notes:

  • Probationary period of 90 days.
  • Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be hired. 
  • Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or suspensions within the past three years. 
  • Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral & written communication skills.  
  • Individual must be able to pass drug and physical screenings as well as background requirements.
