Project: Guidewire PricingCenter

As part of our team, you will contribute to the development of an insurance pricing solution, a new element of the Guidewire world. Following an acquisition of Quantee, a Polish startup that built and launched an actuarial pricing platform, Quantee’s application has been merged into the Guidewire environment as PricingCenter. We are in the process of streamlining that integration, while constantly developing new features for both the current customer base and new prospects. You will work alongside a group of proven experts, the team that built a successful startup and maintains the momentum in a largely expanded field of opportunities.

PricingCenter Product Team

The Product Team that you will join is responsible for preparing specifications and overseeing development of new features. This entails gathering knowledge about the requirements of current customers and prospects, preparing designs, specifications or prototype solutions for new features and cooperating with the engineering team on development work. Your position will focus on actuarial capabilities of the platform.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree Preferred - Final year student of Mathematics or other numerical field.

  • Interest in actuarial science (Non-life/P&C), including use of modern data science tools.

  • Experience or interest in computer science, familiarity with Python programming (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, plotly) very welcome.

  • Growth Mindset: A passion for challenges, a desire to learn, and the drive to innovate.

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and methodologies (Agile) welcome.

  • At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

  • Other types of things that we like to cultivate:

    • Curiosity based on a genuine love of technology and solving challenging technical problems.

    • Accountability, based on an earnest desire to do what is encouraged without prompting.

    • Understanding and respect for your fellow teammates.

We want you to join us to:

  • Immerse yourself in the software development process.

  • Become fluent in insurance pricing techniques.

  • Explore new ways of perfecting pricing analysis and streamlining the price calculation process.

Other learning & growth opportunities:

  • Hands-on experience with Python analytical tools, including machine learning techniques.

  • Honing communication skills, facilitating consensus between stakeholders across specialties.

  • Opportunities to explore using AI-driven technologies to enhance work.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to responsive applications, architecture, and design.

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

How we work @ Guidewire:

  • Collaboration: We build on each other’s ideas and draw on interdisciplinary approaches to craft impactful experiences.

  • Integrity: We stand behind our words and commitments as part of a global community, respecting and recognizing our interdependence.

  • Curiosity: We are lifelong learners with a growth mindset who are passionate about advancing our discipline through entertaining new ideas and unique perspectives.

  • Humility: We leverage our expertise while respecting other viewpoints and challenging our own assumptions.
