About the Role

Job Description:

Job Summary: Learn the responsibilities of a Lab Operations Engineer at the NAIC. Design and develop new ways to increase the productivity of the NAIC while under the supervision of a senior engineer.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learns computer software to design upgrades and test stands for the NAIC while under the guise of a senior engineer.

  • Develops the features, human machine interface (LabVIEW HMI), test report template for all psychrometric chambers.

  • Verifies, maintains, and identifies areas of improvements for the NAIC and chambers.

  • Applies laws, regulations, and departmental policies regarding projects, testing and safety.

  • Works together with Technicians to troubleshoots, applies fixes, and installs upgrades.

  • Communicates with all Engineering departments within the NAIC to gather information pertaining to the project.

  • Reads and reviews electrical diagrams, piping schematics, mechanical drawings, and other engineering documents.

  • Maintains vendor relations for installs, parts, and equipment service.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Current Student or recent graduate of an ABET accredited engineering program.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

  • Works effectively in a team environment.

  • Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

  • Proficient with LabView program.

Work Environment:

  • Office with periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
