Hourly Pay Rate of $20/hr
POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Intern will support the Controllership team, with a rotation in General Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Shared Services by performing analytical tasks, preparing journal entries, conducting accounting reconciliations, processing supplier invoices and assisting with process documentation and improvement initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate accounting and requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow direction, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and post journal entries under the supervision of accounting staff
- Assist with month-end closing process
- Perform account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
- Support cost accounting activities including analysis of material, labor, and overhead costs
- Assist in preparing conversion cost reports
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Document accounting processes and workflows for internal reference and compliance
- Maintain organized records and documentation according to company policies
- Use Excel to perform data analysis and build reports, Power BI experience a plus
- Take direction and coaching to continuously improve skills and performance
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing accounting projects
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Accounting (as a major)
- Available to work 15 to 20 hours per week during regular business hours
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise documentation requirements.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles
- Willingness to take feedback and apply coaching to improve
- Excellent written and organizational skills
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
