About the Role

Description

Fairchild Books, an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing, is seeking an editorial intern for the Spring/Summer 2026 cycle. We are a publisher of academic titles located in Midtown/Herald Square. We are the leading publisher in Fashion and Interior Design textbooks. This internship will be hybrid, with 8 hours in the office and 12 hours working from home.


Position Profile
As a small team, our interns are a key part of our day-to-day operations. As a Fairchild editorial intern, you will work with the Editorial team on a variety of projects that reflect the diverse aspects of academic publishing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Completing course, academic, and art research
  • Assisting with the creation of book resources such as PowerPoints for instructors
  • Working with data systems like Biblio and Salesforce as needed
  • Various administrative tasks
  • Opportunities to take on other editorial projects may also arise 

Requirements

We are looking for creative and motivated individuals, who ideally have the following skills:

  • High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
  • Firm grasp of grammar and spelling, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Strong communication skills in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Access to your own laptop that will be used for the duration of the internship

Duration
The internship will run from Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 through Friday, October 16th, 2026. We require a commitment of 20 hours per week (specific schedule to be arranged with your supervisor) for the entire internship term.

Location

This position will by hybrid with 8 hours in the New York City office and 12 hours working from homeworking from home. Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, CT, or PA and be able to commute to Bloomsbury USA’s New York City office
