SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Marketing Technology Intern to support our national marketing team. It is expected that the intern will work 40 hours per week but there may be opportunities for overtime pay to meet deadlines. The position will be based in Cincinnati, OH in a primarily remote (= distributed) work environment. The individual selected for this internship must be highly organized, able to multi-task, deadline driven, and comfortable with data. In addition, the individual must be a fast learner, able to work with virtual teams, and have a passion for environmental services and sustainability.
This internship will occur during summer 2026 (approximately June 1–August 15). Earlier start dates or later end dates will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are encouraged.
This is a paid, 40-hour per week internship. An intern based in Cincinnati, OH will be paid $19 per hour. The position is remote, but in-person meetings with supervisor are expected at least 2 times a month.

What you will accomplish
Marketing Systems & Performance
- Assist with structured listening sessions with members of cross-functional teams to understand current workflows, tools, and pain points, which will directly inform the team’s marketing operations roadmap
- Synthesize interview notes into actionable insights and process maps that capture current-state marketing operations
- Assist with research and documentation supporting the evaluation of marketing technology platforms and tools
- Help organize and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and workflow reference materials
Marketing Data Management
- Data quality assurance and quality control within our Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool; includes data entry and assistance with clean-up efforts within the clients, contacts, opportunities, projects, and employee areas of a relational database
- Support marketing, business development and/or proposal data and reporting requests
- Identify opportunities to improve data processes and support AI-driven automation initiatives (e.g., leveraging Copilot or similar tools to streamline repetitive tasks)
- Assist in exploring or building simple AI-powered workflows or “agents” to enhance team efficiency (as applicable)
Overall Marketing Support
- Learn industry specific marketing and CRM tracking techniques and best practices necessary for professional growth
- Conduct research projects that will provide valuable insights into market trends, competition, and client needs
Experience and qualifications for success
- Major in Marketing or closely related field preferred.
- Current enrollment in a community college, college, or university, pursuing a certificate of proficiency, Associates degree, or a Bachelor’s degree. Individuals who completed a bachelor’s degree within 12 months of May 1, 2026, will also be considered.
- Applicants that are pursuing a master’s degree will also be considered. Ph.D. candidates are not eligible through this program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Strong Excel skills helpful.
- Experience with SharePoint software helpful.
