About the Role

Communications & Marketing Intern

Anchorage, AK


Alaska Behavioral Health is seeking a Communications and Marketing Intern to support our outreach efforts. This is a paid internship ($18/hour) lasting approximately 3–4 months, with an expected schedule of 15–20 hours per week, including occasional weekend hours (1–2 times per month).

In this role, you will help create engaging content that highlights Alaska Behavioral Health’s services and impact. This includes producing video, website, and social media content by interviewing staff, attending trainings and team meetings, and capturing day-to-day moments across the organization.

Additional responsibilities may include:

    Representing Alaska Behavioral Health at community outreach events

    Assisting with website updates and content revisions

    Organizing photos and digital media

    Supporting general communications and marketing projects as needed

What we’re looking for:

    Social media savvy, with experience in creating short-form video content (phone footage, etc.)

    Strong attention to detail and solid writing skills

    Proficiency in grammar and spelling

    Experience using Canva and/or similar design tools

    Curiosity and willingness to learn

An interest in mental health and coursework in fields such as psychology or social work is a plus.
