About the Role

Position Summary 

The Human Resources Intern will provide critical administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team during the transition to a new HR/payroll system. This role will assist with system data migration, payroll data entry, recruiting coordination, resume management, and interview scheduling. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with confidential employee data in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

HR System Transition & Data Support 

  • Assist with the transition and implementation of a new HR and/or payroll system, including data validation and entry. 

  • Support the migration of employee records, payroll information, and HR documentation into the new system. 

  • Conduct data audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. 

  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee and payroll data at all times. 

  • Coordinate with HR leadership and system vendors as needed during implementation activities. 

Payroll Support 

  • Enter and maintain payroll-related data including new hires, job changes, pay rates, deductions, and employee updates. 

  • Assist with payroll processing preparation and verification. 

  • Support corrections and follow-up on payroll discrepancies under HR direction. 

  • Maintain accurate payroll and personnel records. 

Recruiting & Hiring Support 

  • Assist with posting job openings and managing incoming resumes. 

  • Screen and organize resumes for review by hiring managers. 

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with candidates and internal stakeholders. 

  • Communicate professionally with candidates regarding interview logistics and next steps. 

  • Support onboarding activities including new hire paperwork and system setup. 

Administrative & General HR Support 

  • Maintain organized electronic and paper personnel files. 

  • Track recruiting and HR activity metrics as requested. 

  • Assist with HR correspondence, reporting, and documentation. 

  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Concentration in Communications, Human Resources  

  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. 

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
