Position Summary:


The Commercial Analytics Intern will play a meaningful role within the DwyerOmega Commercial Excellence team, helping drive data-informed decisions that support revenue growth and operational efficiency. In this role, the intern will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design scalable systems, strengthen data governance, and develop analytics that improve visibility into commercial performance.


This internship offers hands-on experience working on impactful, project-based initiatives that contribute to long-term infrastructure improvements. A key focus will be supporting the development of a standardized Salesforce onboarding framework for newly acquired companies, helping streamline integrations and improve data consistency across the organization. The intern will also assist with analytics projects that enhance sales reporting and performance insights.


This opportunity is ideal for a curious and analytical problem solver who enjoys working through complex systems, identifying edge cases, and building solutions that support multiple teams. The role offers exposure to cross-functional collaboration and the chance to contribute to projects that influence commercial strategy and operational excellence.


Essential Job Functions

  • Designing a repeatable, documented process for Salesforce implementation and writing a step-by-step playbook.
  • Creating standardized field mapping templates and data validation rules.
  • Mapping existing CRM data structures and processes to Salesforce’s architecture and processes.
  • Interviewing stakeholders from IT, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service.
  • Design custom reporting to ensure sales visibility throughout the implementation process, which analyzes pipeline trends, forecast accuracy, pricing and margins. 
  • Support the testing and validation of the Salesforce onboarding framework during the next implementation with a user group at DwyerOmega.


Essential/Preferred Skills:

  • Pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Systems engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and BI tools.
  • Exposure to CRM systems such as Salesforce, Dynamics, Zoho, Hubspot, and other similar systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams.

Requirements

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Position is based at the DwyerOmega office in San Marcos, CA.
  • Work will primarily take place in a professional office environment.
  • Primarily office-based role requiring extended periods of computer work.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.
  • Ability to move within the office environment to attend meetings and collaborate with team members as needed.
  • Occasionally lift or move light office materials (up to 10 lbs).
