About the Role

Intern, Financial Reporting and Control

Position Summary

London Stock Exchange Group’s Business Services organisation supports multiple global legal entities and offers a strong environment for developing your financial skills. As an Intern - Financial Reporting and Control, you will work closely with a team lead and contribute to preparing, developing, and analysing financial information that supports informed decision‑making and long‑term business performance.

This internship provides hands‑on exposure to LSEG’s business model, core accounting activities, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will rotate through key areas of responsibility to gain broad learning opportunities and become confident using globally recognised financial systems. The role offers structured processes, meaningful work, and the opportunity to apply finance concepts in a fast‑paced professional setting.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting transactions in the general ledger, sub‑ledgers, and reporting modules, including collecting, recording, and validating financial data.
  • Support and shadow team members on day‑to‑day activities, building practical experience with the business tasks.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and carry out key validation processes.
  • Follow group reporting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing weekly or monthly financial reports as needed.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reports to support operational and analytical work.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Currently pursuing or at the early stages of a Finance degree or professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across different locations.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly.
  • A collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership and reliability.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work according to UK business hours.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively.
