About the Role

The position of Agronomy Intern is of great significance to Valley Agronomics.  A person in this position will support the Agronomy location and learning agronomy job skills. The Agronomy Intern will gain valuable experience within the agronomy field. An internship will provide a realistic job preview and lay the foundation for future employment as a Crop Advisor. This is a safety-sensitive position. 


Job Summary

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.  

  • Help examining fields for yield, quality, adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests.  
  • Help growers discover the best methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting, and effects of various climatic conditions on crops. 
  • Assist with various product field development and product sales support functions. 
  • Scout fields and develop methods for control of noxious weeds, crop diseases, and insect pests.  
  • Strictly follow all company policies which include safety and regulatory. 
  • Communicate information regarding products and services with customers.  
  • Travel to, and work at or around, other Ag facilities throughout Valley Agronomics as needed.  
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities and/or tasks as assigned.  


ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES: 

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Ag related field.  
  • Good communication skills: ability to communicate in an appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and the general public. 
  • Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
