You will work in a team on a research and development task and contribute with a creative, methodical, and independent way of working.

The basic requirement for a thesis at Schaeffler is proof of enrollment at the time of the thesis.
This position must be filled from now for a period of at least 6 months. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting a literature review on the current state of the art in the field
  • Preparation and running CFD calculations in a rolling bearing
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and documenting the results
  • Validating simulation data using experiment results or literature references in consultation with your advisor
  • Conducting sensitivity and parameter studies to derive an optimal solution

Your Qualifications

  • Studies in the field of mechanical engineering, physics or a related field of study
  • Competent handling of MS-Office applications
  • Advanced English and German skills
  • Good knowledge in the field of fluid mechanics or physics, especially numerical flow simulation (CFD) 
  • Knowledge of machine elements desirable 
  • Programming experience, ideally Python 
  • Critical and creative thinking
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills as well as organizational talent
