About The Company
Alamar Biosciences is powering precision proteomics with automated, high throughput solutions for ultra-high sensitivity protein analysis across a range of multiplex levels. Our proprietary NULISA™ Chemistry utilizes a novel sequential capture and release method that significantly reduces background signal and increases the sensitivity and dynamic range compared with standard approaches and allows both qPCR and NGS readouts. The NULISAseq Inflammation Panel contains 200+ important markers related to immune and inflammatory diseases and will run on our ARGO™ System. This innovative platform allows for a fully automated workflow with less than 30 minutes hands on time from sample to data.
About the Role

At Alamar, we are passionate about enabling our customers to make scientific discoveries that translate into clinical outcomes and benefit patients. Our team is growing quickly as we develop innovative approaches to measure critical protein biomarkers from liquid samples that can enable the earliest possible detection of disease. We believe the next frontier in biology is enabled by measuring proteins at higher sensitivity in highly multiplexed assays at the push of a button, which is something only Alamar can do. As we build our team, we seek collaborative, driven, intellectually curious people committed to solving complex challenges. Our culture rewards accountability and cross functional teamwork because we believe this enables the kind of breakthrough thinking that will accelerate our mission.

We are seeking a summer intern in the Technology Development team who is eager to learn and apply academic knowledge to the development of immunoassay technologies for biomarker discovery. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in developing novel immunoassay technologies and will execute and analyze experiments to support new biomarker discovery platforms. The intern will also assist with inventory management and data organization. This role offers the opportunity to work with innovative technologies and collaborate with a highly talented and motivated team to help address unmet research and medical needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply trained knowledge and skill sets to design and execute experiments for novel immunoassay technology.
  • Assist in the preparation, organization, and storage of reagents for running immune assays.
  • Analyze data, present insights, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
  • Assist in the organization and storage of related data and electronic documents.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with general lab techniques and lab instruments.
  • Experience with executing immunoassays, such as NULISA, ELISA, and an understanding of how to analyze and review assay data is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in Excel and other MS Office programs.
  • Must be self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude and have good project management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
