Location: Johannesburg – Woodmead, South Africa
Start date: 01 June 2026
Duration: 12 months

Your role

As a Legal Intern, you will support the Legal Department in managing legal and regulatory matters, while contributing to maintaining active engagement with relevant Competent Authorities in South Africa.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting legal documents, including contracts, addenda, complaints, responses to complaints, client communications, official correspondence, and pleadings related to commercial, consumer, tender, and administrative matters.

  • Conducting legal research, including case law analysis, and monitoring updates in regulations and legislation.

  • Supporting the analysis of business cases in civil, commercial, and administrative law.

  • Managing and updating contract archives (both online and offline), as well as maintaining contract registration systems.

  • Assisting in the development of internal training materials related to privacy and compliance, particularly in healthcare compliance.

  • Providing support on corporate legal matters.

  • Assisting the Legal Department with internal requests from cross-functional teams (Tenders, Service, Consumer, Tax, Finance, and HR).

You're the right fit if

You are a graduate (2024–2026) with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.

You are a South African graduate and have successfully completed all required modules/credits with a minimum average of 60%.

You are fluent in English (written and spoken).

You demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Previous legal experience is an advantage.
