Job Summary:

The Finance Intern is an active member of the Wellstar Corporate Finance team. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside our Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, and Treasury team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated Finance Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance, financial reporting, and strategic analysis within a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Data Analysis: Help analyze financial data and trends to provide insights into departmental performance and budget variances. Accounts Support: Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice verification and reconciliation. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting updates. Audit Preparation: Help organize documentation for internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Research: Conduct market research or industry benchmarking to support strategic initiatives. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and improve data accuracy. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 2 years college student, minimum 2 years of college courses completed Preferred

    Required Minimum Skills:

    Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and basic modeling). Experience with ERP software (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or BI tools is a plus. Medium Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly Medium Professionalism: Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity. Low Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and financial documentation. Ability to manage assignments that are of diverse scope and complexity and require initiative and judgement Medium Communication: Effective communication skills; excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
