Overview

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineering Intern to support manufacturing and operations advanced analytics/AI initiative. This role provides hands-on experience working with enterprise datasets, building data transformations, data pipelines and supporting analytics infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in SQL and data modeling an interest in data engineering, and a desire to learn modern data platforms such as Databricks. Exposure to manufacturing, operations, supply chain, data science, or Tableau is a plus.

This internship offers practical experience developing scalable data workflows and supporting real-world business analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining ELT pipelines in Databricks/python
  • Write and enhance SQL queries for data transformation, aggregation, and validation
  • Perform data quality checks and help troubleshoot pipeline issues
  • Optimize basic SQL queries for readability and performance
  • Assist with ingesting structured and semi-structured data
  • Document transformation logic, table definitions, and data sources
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and manufacturing stakeholders to support analytics needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical/Operations/Data Science/Computer Science Engineering or a related major. 
  • Students must be recently graduated, or graduating this Spring.


Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of SQL (joins, aggregations, filtering, basic subqueries)
  • Exposure to Python for data processing
  • AI for data analytics and insights
  • Familiarity with Git for version control
  • Experience building pipelines for reporting
  • Exposure to basic data science concepts or coursework
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Pay Range: $23.75 - 54.30/hour USD
