Software Engineering Intern in Test - Internship
Location: Boston Seaport or Marlborough, MA (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)
Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026 (10 weeks)
Compensation: Hourly paid internship
Role Overview
This role is designed for students who want hands-on experience building and validating software systems that operate at enterprise scale. As a Software Engineer in Test (Co-op/Intern), you will contribute directly to the reliability and performance of Nasuni’s cloud file data platform used by global enterprises.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy debugging, automation, and understanding how systems behave under load—not just writing code, but validating that it works at scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python-based automated test tools using pytest frameworks
- Configure and operate Linux-based test environments, including VMs and clustered systems
- Investigate tooling and test failures and assist in root cause analysis of defects
- Participate in bug triage discussions, clearly documenting findings and reproduction steps
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows by improving test reliability and execution efficiency
- Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., code generation, debugging assistants) to accelerate test development and analyze failures, validating outputs before use
- Gain exposure to distributed systems, file protocols (NFS/SMB), and hybrid cloud environments
Must-Have Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Foundational programming experience in Python
- Basic familiarity with Linux command line
- Ability to debug issues and document findings clearly and logically
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, unittest)
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Exposure to networking concepts or operating systems coursework
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., coding assistants) to support development workflows
Ideal Qualifications
- Hands-on project experience involving test automation or system validation
- Exposure to distributed systems, storage systems, or cloud environments
- Experience diagnosing issues across multi-component systems
Experience Guidelines
- A rising senior undergraduate student (0–2 years relevant experience)
