About the Role

Position Summary: 

 

The Summer Internship Program offers students work experience and professional guidance in several areas of the organization. Interns contribute to projects that support departmental work, develop new skills, and gain insight into their career interests. Interns will have the opportunity to network with other interns, explore behind the scenes of Battery Park City Authority’s innovative vision and design, complex public space management, leadership in sustainable practices, and commitment to providing outstanding public resources.

 

Essential Duties:


Under the direct supervision of the AVP, HR the HR Intern will: 

 

  • Provide assistance to HR File Digitization Project through verification of information in physical and electronic files and preparing materials to scan. 
  • Conduct research on a variety of HR topics to inform the HR team of the best industry practices and support HR priorities. 
  • Expand network of job posting sources by developing a targeted list and establishing contacts with diverse organizations and conducting outreach to promote BPCA’s mission and career opportunities. 
  • Support recruitment through follow-up outreach with career fair attendees and prior seasonal employees.
  • Support audits of HR information by comparing data riving accuracy and consistency in records.
  • Provide support with drafting and editing various Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the HR Department
  • Write clear and concise FAQs that will guide employees through various stages of their employment.
  • Organize information in HR shared drive.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

 

  • Current Undergraduate or Graduate Student in Human Resources, or Organizational Development or another related field
  • Preferably 1-year related experience working in an office environment.
