Position Summary:


We’re seeking a motivated engineering student to join our team this summer. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in product design, testing, validation, and documenting continuous improvement. 


The Manufacturing Engineering intern will support production by updating work instructions to a newly designed format and transition the controlled documents into implementation. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with engineers to design and build test and calibration equipment for new and existing products.
  • Improve productivity through ergonomic evaluations, time studies, simulations, and line balancing.
  • Conduct cost analysis to support manufacturing decisions.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, including mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes and assembly flow.
  • Support quality control initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with PLC, HMI, and robotic programming (as applicable).

Requirements

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year or four-year college or university program. A major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an office environment and sit for extended periods while using a computer workstation.
  • Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors for engineering designing and documentation tasks.
  • Ability to view detailed technical drawings and work with precise visual information.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, or move between office areas, meeting rooms, or engineering workspaces.
  • May occasionally visit manufacturing areas while following all required safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) if required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members in person, virtually, and via written communication.
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials or documents (typically up to 10–15 lbs.) if needed.
