About the Role

Join our Mutual Fund Operations & Reporting team as an Intern, Mutual Fund Accounting and Reporting and gain hands-on experience supporting the daily operations and financial reporting of mutual funds and separate accounts tied to our annuity, retirement, and life insurance products.

In this role, you'll assist with operational tasks, reporting, and administrative duties while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. You'll help prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and gain exposure to a wide range of business areas including Investments, Legal, Compliance, and IT.

Your role and impact

Here's a glimpse of your responsibilities and the meaningful impact you'll create as the Intern, Mutual Fund Accounting and Reporting:

  • Assisting with the preparation of investment schedules and other financial reporting deliverables
  • Monitoring daily mutual fund trades and settlements
  • Supporting daily valuation testing, trial balance review, and reconciliations
  • Reviewing fund expenses, accruals, and net asset value (NAV) calculations
  • Maintaining accurate fund and share balance records
  • Preparing reports for external vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Participating in fund board reporting, valuation analysis, and ad-hoc projects
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

What sets you up for success

  • Currently progressing towards a bachelor's degree in a business related field. Completion of some accounting and finance coursework preferred.
  • Must have an ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to clearly articulate issues to management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, proficiency in developing formulas to create efficiencies in Excel, and an ability to multi-task and learn a variety of investments-related software, preferred.
