Reports to: Senior Operations Manager (Parallel18)
Location / Hours: San Juan, Puerto Rico (on-site) / Full-Time
Type of Contract: Temporary Internship (June-July 2026)
Overview of the Organization
The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust (“PRSTRT” or “Trust”) is a private non-profit organization created in 2004 to encourage and promote innovation, transfer, and commercialization of technology and creation of jobs in the technology sector. We contribute to Puerto Rico’s public policy for science, technology, research, and development. The Trust’s mission is to invest, facilitate and build capacity to continually advance Puerto Rico's economy and its citizens’ well-being through innovation-driven enterprises, science, technology, research, and public health. Parallel18 a program of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology, and Research Trust is a top-level, performance-driven international startup program with a social mission: offering entrepreneurs from all over the world access to high-quality business training, funding, and networks to help them scale globally while working to position Puerto Rico as a unique hub for innovative businesses and technology.
Purpose
Support the Parallel18 team with efforts to integrate participants with the local community through internal and external events and take charge of general program activities. The role will provide office support services, and support on daily activities from the different programs: Operations, Marketing & Communications, Business Development and Investment. This position also performs on-demand assignments in support of Parallel18 activities and teams. This position will have the experience to collaborate alongside all key areas of the Parallel18 operation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operations:
- Support with startup research within our database.
- Update/Maintenance of the master list of all contacts.
- Support with market research tasks.
- Take notes and organize assigned tasks.
- Attend KPI meetings and follow-up sessions during active cohorts.
- Participate in Office Hours held between the department and the startups.
Marketing & Communications:
- Learn the brand guidelines of the organization and its programs (Parallel18 and Trust).
- Participate in meetings with the team to acknowledge each program's brand, social media, and ongoing initiatives and to learn about each team member's tasks.
- Support in basic M&C tasks.
- Support and participate in startups Office Hours held between the department and the startups.
- Organization and data cleansing of the department.
- Support in content for social media when needed (video production, campaign strategy, copywriting, photography, etc.)
- Support in the development of writing material such as press releases, scripts and social media posts.
- Art design support if necessary.
- Research on trending topics, competitive analysis, and industry best practices.
- Support in event coordination and execution (vendor quotes, working on technical rundowns, scripts, among other tasks).
Business Development:
- Along with the Business Development Manager, engage with the existing parallel18 corporate partners.
- Research of prospects for new corporate partners.
- Update the active Corporate Partners database.
- Participate in daytime events or meetings with corporate partners.
- Participate in Office Hours held between the department and the startups.
- Opportunity to follow up on a startup for which the department has made some outreach effort.
- Engage with Parallel18 startups that are currently participating in acceleration programs or have participated in acceleration programs.
- Assist startups when it comes to negotiating with corporate partners.
- Provide general administrative support to accounts including calendar management, database development, monthly report preparation, and weekly meeting agendas.
Other general responsibilities:
- Front Desk support when necessary.
- Support in the general office organization.
- Help in keeping inventory of office supplies and marketing materials and coordinate restocking orders as needed.
- Active support in any office-related organizational need, such as preparing the coworking space for meetings and events.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings, conferences, and teleconference calls.
- Maintain a working atmosphere of respect, professionalism, and productivity.
- Help and support manage the main e-mail of the parallel18 program.
- Provide support to the parallel18 team as in any other requested task for the development and optimization of parallel18’s programs.

Qualifications & Technical Job Requirements
- You've got to have a doer mindset with outstanding organizational and communication skills, plus be willing to lead and take projects to a new level alongside an amazing team.
- Be willing to learn and explore entrepreneurship and economic development initiatives and have the hunger and drive to keep learning about the ecosystem.
- Ability to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment; handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work; and ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met as required.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and persuasive abilities to influence cooperation and collaboration.
- Solid understanding of the organization's overall business and program objectives.
- Proficient computer user with equal knowledge of software programs and the Internet; knowledge of Microsoft and Google suite products is needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work effectively as part of a team; ability to tactfully give/receive constructive feedback.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. This is a global program, so you must be fluent in Spanish and English with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail while being resourceful and a fast learner.
- Strong work ethic including being dependable and punctual.
- Professional attitude with emphasis on ethical behavior.
- High motivation to make a positive impact in the startup and entrepreneurial landscape of Puerto Rico.
Experience & Educational Requirements
- A recent graduate or current student (junior or senior) working on a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong interest in startups, and intent to become an entrepreneur and/or pursue a career in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, or account management.
