ABOUT THE ROLE

A Design Intern assists engineers, or designers by creating, modifying, and updating technical drawings, 3D models, and blueprints using software like DriveWorks or SolidWorks. They collaborate on design projects, ensure accuracy in documentation, and learn industry standards. Ideal candidates are students with CAD skills, strong attention to detail, and a desire to learn engineering or architectural design. 

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models under supervision.
  • Revise drawings based on feedback and assist in converting concepts into manufacturing documents.
  • Update project blueprints, create Bills of Materials (BOMs), and organize technical documentation.
  • Work with engineers and designers to interpret sketches and resolve design discrepancies.
  • Assist in calculating dimensions, material requirements, and reviewing designs for compliance with ASME standards.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • Software Proficiency: Experience or coursework in DriveWorks or SolidWorks.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding drafting techniques, engineering principles, and design.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in creating technical drawings.
  • Communication: Ability to work in a team environment and communicate technical information.
  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
