About the Role

Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Controls Engineering Intern in our Columbia, Missouri plant. This on-site position requires the ideal candidate to be located in the general area. There is no relocation or sponsorship provided to Co-Ops or Internships.

 

What will you do?

  • Support Automation project testing, training and provide support to plant production.
  • Support the integration of automation with PLC programming, vision system programming, and multiple other edge hardware to integrate with existing MIS layers.
  • Monitor and report automation performance KPIs, root cause and apply corrective actions.
  • Support the engineering team to identify and scope use cases for future automation.
  • Provide analytics and other support the automation SDP and Engineering team.
  • Identify opportunities for electrical testing speed improvement and yield increase, by understanding the electrical/electronic interactions between the product and the testing equipment.
  • Other projects as needed / working alongside seasoned professionals

Desired qualities for the job. 

  • Solid mathematical and analytical skills 
  • Autonomous learner 
  • Experience in tableau, sql and excel is highly desirable. 
  • Experience in PLC and object oriented programming and iec programming languagesladder, structured text, statement instruction list, function block diagram, sequential function chartObject oriented programming. 
  • Experience in hmi visualization software 
  • Experience with indicators and operators, instrumentation, fieldbus communications, drives, vision, and robotics 
  • Creativity and Curiosity 
  • Responsibility and Trustworthiness.
