About the Role

 

Motivair by Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for a Quality Engineering Intern based in Buffalo, NY for Summer 2026. This intern will support day-to-day quality operations, assist with problem-solving activities, and help drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on role that offers exposure to real manufacturing challenges, engineering tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Support inspection, testing, and documentation of materials, components, and finished products. Review supplier PPAP/FAI submissions, certificates of analysis, and quality documentation
  • SQE specific: Participate in supplier audits, process assessments, and follow-up activities
  • Collect and analyze production and quality data to identify trends or improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in process capability studies, Gage R&R, and SPC activities.
  • Help maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including document updates and audit prep.
  • Assist in managing nonconforming material, including tracking, investigation, and reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects and improving process stability.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other teams to resolve quality issues.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22 - $27 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs.

The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with basic quality tools (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto charts) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics or manufacturing processes is helpful, but not required.
  • Currently local to Buffalo, NY 
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis. The company does not provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Exposure to measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM).
  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
