About the role 

 

The Graduate Mining Engineer position at Evolution Mining is designed to provide practical experience in both underground and open-pit mining environments.

 

Through a tailored development program, graduates will gain exposure to a broad range of mining activities through a combination of field-based and office-based work at different operations across Australia.

 

During the first year, graduates will complete rotations that build core operational and technical capability.

 

Over the course of your two-year program, graduates will gain exposure to both underground and open pit mining and develop a broad understanding of mining operations across the business.

 

Graduates interested in pursuing an Underground Mine Manager’s Certificate or Open Pit Quarry Manager’s ticket will also have the opportunity to gain relevant experience through the program, aligned with Western Australian legislative requirements.

 

 

About you

 

The Graduate Mining Engineer role works closely with the Evolution Mining team, offering the opportunity for professional development in both underground and open-pit mining environments.

 

The ideal candidate is ambitious, and will possess the following:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Science (Mining), Engineering Science (Mining Engineering), or a similar qualification.
  • A manual driver’s license or the ability to obtain one before starting the Graduate program.
  • Vacation work experience within the mining industry is highly regarded.
  • Strong team collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer literacy, including spreadsheet and database development.
  • A high degree of safety awareness with proven hazard identification and risk assessment skills.  
  • Ability to prioritise and schedule work  
  • Competent user of MS Office tools
