About the role 

 

This role involves working closely with Plant and Senior Metallurgists to optimize plant performance and support production in achieving gold and copper output targets.

 

The Graduate Metallurgist will conduct metallurgical test work, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. The position also includes professional development through rotations across various functions and fulfilling the requirements of the Graduate Program.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work alongside Plant and Senior Metallurgists to monitor plant operations, provide technical support, and assist in achieving gold and copper output targets.
  • Conduct metallurgical test work, plant trials, and projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
  • Actively promote workplace safety, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with mining health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Fulfill Graduate Program requirements, complete rotations across processing and cross-functional roles, and engage in development activities.
  • Monitor plant metallurgical performance, ensure process consumables and plant parameters remain within budget, and provide timely technical advice and reports.

 

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise while gaining exposure to various aspects of gold and copper mineral processing. Through hands-on experience and structured learning, the Graduate Metallurgist will play a key role in driving operational improvements and contributing to the overall success of the team.   

 

 

About you

 

To be successful, the candidate will require the following skills: 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
  • Competency in data management, metallurgical software, and computer literacy.
  • Manual Driver’s License or the ability to obtain a manual driver’s license before the program begins.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company Values is critical.  A strong dedication to workplace health, safety, and security standards, as well as alignment with Evolution Mining’s core values, is important.

 

This program is designed for driven and ambitious graduates looking to build a strong foundation in metallurgy within the mining industry. By developing key technical, analytical, and leadership skills, participants will gain valuable experience and contribute to Evolution Mining’s continued success.
