The Re:Build Applied Logix Team provides design expertise for all facets of modern digital product development - with custom analog and digital embedded electronics; VHDL and Verilog targeting FPGAs, embedded software on bare-metal, RTOS or Linux; full-stack application development (Linux and Windows). Our mechanical design capabilities include the packaging of embedded systems, tooling design, and manufacturing process development.

About Our Wire Harness Design Services Division

Six months ago, we launched a specialized wire harness design services division to support clients in bringing their electrical interconnect solutions from concept to manufacturing-ready designs. Our team works with diverse clients across multiple industries to:

  • Design custom wire harnesses from client requirements and product specifications
  • Convert existing harness drawings (PDF and other formats) into manufacturing-ready designs
  • Generate comprehensive manufacturing documentation including test procedures, formboards, and work instructions
  • Support modern assembly operations using Cadonix SmartBuild technology with real-time visual work instructions

Summer 2026 Co-Op Position Overview (with possible Fall 2026 extension)

We are seeking a motivated engineering co-op student to join our growing team specializing in wire harness engineering for Summer 2026, with the possibility of extension through Fall 2026.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a new, fast-growing division where you will contribute to creating foundational procedures and effective methods. You will work with the latest wire harness build technology.  

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

What You'll Get to Do!

In this hands-on role, you’ll gain real-world experience supporting the design and production of wire harness systems used in advanced engineering applications.

  • Learn and use industry software (Cadonix Arcadia) to create and update wire harness designs

  • Convert existing drawings into digital design formats and input key design data

  • Help create manufacturing-ready documentation like work instructions and test procedures

  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to bring designs to life

  • Support component selection, design validation, and quality checks

  • Assist in building visual work instructions and optimizing tools used on the production floor

  • Contribute to process improvements, SOP development, and best practices

  • Gain exposure to cost estimating, quoting tools, and project scoping

What You Will Bring to the Team

We’re looking for curious, motivated students who are excited to learn and contribute in a hands-on engineering environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

  • Completed sophomore year (rising junior or senior preferred)

  • Strong interest in electrical systems, wire harness design, and manufacturing

  • Experience with CAD software

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Clear communicator (both written and verbal)

  • Able to work independently and collaborate within a team

  • Comfortable documenting work and maintaining organized records

  • Available Summer 2026 (May/June–August), with potential to extend into Fall

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electrical schematics or wiring diagrams

  • Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

  • Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals (wire sizing, voltage, current)

  • Exposure to manufacturing or Design for Manufacturing (DfM) concepts

  • Experience with technical or process documentation

  • Awareness of quality standards (UL, IPC, SAE, etc.)

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in engineering or manufacturing

Compensation Range: Annual salary for this position is expected to be between $25.00 to $31.00. The actual pay may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
