About The Company
The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at Ohio Wesleyan's mission is to create a collaborative, innovative, and imaginative space that facilitates value creation and professional development. The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at OWU is housed at 70 S. About the Role

Admission Office 2026 Summer Bishop Ambassadors

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The OWU Admission Office is seeking to fill six positions in our Summer Bishop Ambassadors Program for Summer 2026. The Summer Bishop Ambassador Program is a paid position and provides robust and varied experiences within recruitment. Only OWU students are eligible to apply and they must be in good academic standing. Most importantly, students should demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for OWU and a strong desire to share that with various constituents (prospective students/families, school and independent counselors, etc.)


The Bishop Ambassador program at OWU is the elite summer job because it offers the opportunity to develop valuable leadership, communication, and public speaking skills while representing a prestigious university. As a tour guide, students gain real-world experience in customer service and event coordination, all while earning money and enhancing their resumes. It’s a unique chance to be an influential part of the university’s recruitment process and make lasting connections with prospective students and faculty.


Key Responsibilities of Summer Employment as a Bishop Ambassador (Tour Guide) for the Office of Admission:


1. *Conduct Campus Tours:* Lead engaging and informative campus tours for prospective students and their families, showcasing the university's facilities, academic programs, student life, and key resources.


2. *Provide Information:* Offer accurate and up-to-date information about the university’s offerings, admissions process, campus culture, and student support services in a clear and approachable manner.


3. *Represent the University:* Serve as a positive and enthusiastic ambassador for the university, reflecting the institution’s values, mission, and culture.


4. *Engage Prospective Students:* Foster connections with prospective students and their families by answering questions, addressing concerns, and sharing personal experiences related to campus life and academics.


5. *Assist with Events:* Support the Office of Admission by assisting with special events, open houses, and information sessions, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming atmosphere. We have events on the following days and it would be very important to be available for these: 

  • May 16 - Saturday Visit/Alumni Tours
  • July 13 - Bishop Beginning
  • July 20 - Bishop Beginning
  • July 21- Only in Ohio Tour
  • July 29 - Summer Institute
  • July 30 - Summer Institute
  • July 31 - Summer Institute


6. *Collaborate with Admission Team:* Work closely with the admissions staff to maintain consistency in the delivery of information and ensure a seamless experience for all visitors.


7. *Promote University Programs:* Highlight various academic programs, extracurricular activities, student organizations, and campus resources to help prospective students make informed decisions.


8. *Provide Feedback:* Collect feedback from visitors about their experience and share insights with the Admissions team to improve future tours and events.


9. *Maintain Professionalism:* Exhibit professionalism at all times by adhering to the university’s dress code, punctuality standards, and communication protocols.


10. *Answer Admission Office Phone:* Be the point person to answer phone calls to the Admissions Office and transfer calls appropriately. 


 
11. *Other Duties as Assigned:* Perform other related tasks as needed to support the Office of Admissions goals and ensure a positive experience.

  • Must demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for OWU and a strong desire to share that with various constituents
  • Must be outgoing and able to represent the Admission Office and Ohio Wesleyan in a positive and professional manner
  • Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of both large and small groups
  • Must show a commitment to providing a high level of customer service

Hours: 

The Summer Intern position is full time.  Weekend and evening work may be required.  Non-paid vacation is available with the approval of the supervisor.  


Compensation:

  • On campus housing may be provided. You will be responsible for your own meals.  If you choose to commute, housing costs will not be provided. 

  • Bishop Ambassadors  will be paid an hourly rate.


NOTE:

Employment sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
