Job Summary

The HR Intern supports the Human Resources team by assisting with day to day operational activities, data management, onboarding, employee experience initiatives, and process improvements. This role is ideal for a student or early career professional interested in gaining hands on experience in HR operations, systems, and compliance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of AET’s HR department and learn what HR can do for the organization
  • Assist with maintaining and updating employee records in HRIS systems. 
  • Support document management including filing, scanning, uploading, and auditing forms. 
  • Help prepare HR reports, metrics, and dashboards as needed. 
  • Assist with internal communication drafts—emails, newsletters, or intranet updates.
  • Participate and lead audits of employee files and HR processes.
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries or route them to the appropriate HR team member. 
  • Update internal HR documentation, templates, and SOPs
  • Learn and support day to day use of HRIS, ATS, and other HR tools. 
  • Assist with data entry, quality checks, and system updates. 
  • Help review processes and identify opportunities for automation or streamlining.
  • Assist with various HR administration tasks.


Required Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a degree in a Human Resources program or similar programs
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to work under tight deadline schedules and float between various projects and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a wide range of individuals
  • Effective planning, organizational and detail-orientated skills – ability to prioritize projects and adjust workload accordingly
  • Must take initiative, be self-motivated and an independent, accountable, dependable performer
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with demonstrated capability in Word, Excel, PPT, Zoom, Teams and Outlook
  • Good organizational and time management skills required
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Take immediate action to overcome obstacles
  • Proactive, customer-driven attitude


Pay Transparency 

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $20 - $21 per hour. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.
