About the Role

Duration: 8 weeks, July 7, 2026 - August 27, 2026

The ideal candidate for the IT Support internship is eager to learn and dive right into the tech world here at Barbarian. You will learn about all the technical steps to keep IT operations running for the business.   Providing first level support to our staff, you will practice your technical skills and communication. You are ready to dive in and apply yourself to building out computer profiles, executing tech projects with the Head of IT, and resolving helpdesk requests from the staff.  

Responsibilities: Your Day to Day 

  • Investigate, respond, and resolve all tech requests in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot end user hardware/software problems and escalate where necessary
  • Assist the IT manager in onboarding, offboarding staff as well as installing and troubleshooting user Mac/PC issues
  • Work to minimize the presence of spam, spyware, malware, and viruses across all systems by enforcing company IT security protocols
  • Maintain video conference AV equipment and its capabilities for our internal staff and clients
  • Coordinate and check in with other departments to ensure that all technology is working properly
  • Provide face to face (as well as remote) assistance to internal staff, as needed
  • Manage IT inventory, keeping all equipment information up to date as needed
  • Assist in research and implementation of new equipment and services

Qualifications & Experience

  • No prior professional experience is required as we are looking for candidates who desire a career in technology
  • Passionate about technology, such as computers, internet troubleshooting and printers
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and a proactive team player
  • Working knowledge or personal experience using Apple Mac Operating systems OSX and/or Windows OS
  • Interest in overall IT knowledge, such as network infrastructure and computer hardware and software
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders is a plus
  • Able to effectively manage time and workload under pressure 
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service

 

Location: NYC (in office Tues-Thurs)

Salary range: $18/HOUR 

The starting salary will match the skills and experience in the role assessed during the interview process.
