About the Role

Affinity is seeking energetic, responsible interns to join our growing organization for exciting, educational and fulfilling summer internship opportunities.  Interns will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs.  Internship hours of 30-40 hours/a week during summer months with some onsite work required at our corporate HQ in Basking Ridge, NJ.

The starting pay range for a new hire in this position is $16-$17 per hour.  The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience,  education, etc. 

General Intern Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited college program to receive credit. GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred. 
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
  • Engaged and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

Position Summary: Financial Wellbeing & Education Intern

The Financial Wellbeing & Education Intern will support our efforts in delivering best in class financial education and wellbeing content, seminars, and events. By supporting and collaborating with the Wellbeing & Communications Specialist and External Affairs & Financial Education Manager the Financial Wellbeing & Education Intern will support delivering Affinity’s financial education and Affinity Wellbeing Institute strategies primarily through the logistical and content requirements of these programs. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Affinity Wellbeing Institute launch through the update of materials & presentation content.
  • Assist with logistics, communications, execution, tracking, and reporting for financial education and wellbeing webinars/events.
  • Assist with financial wellbeing record keeping, monthly report preparation, problem incidence reporting, and related activities.
  • Support financial wellbeing newsletter and related communications 


Position Summary: Data & Analytics Intern

The Data & Analytics Intern position offer hands-on credit union experience working with real-world data, developing insights, and supporting business decisions through analytics, visualization, and data engineering. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to solve problems and learn best practices in data-driven decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and generate insights to support business objectives
  • Build dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel or Tableau
  • Support data quality checks and documentation of processes
  • Contribute to data engineering efforts, including:
    • Writing and optimizing SQL queries
    • Assisting in ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
    • Working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Collaborate with team members on active projects and present findings to stakeholders
  • Learn and apply basic principles of data governance and security
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
  • Interest in data engineering concepts (ETL, data pipelines, cloud platforms).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.


Position Summary: Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will offer hands-on experience across community engagement, social media and broader marketing initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support community events by preparing and organizing collateral, giveaways and branded material.
  • Assist with social media content, including partnering with external marketing agency and proofing copy prior to posting.
  • Support the execution of various marketing initiatives and campaigns as needed.
  • Provide general marketing and administrative support to team members as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in marketing, community engagement and social media.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
