About the Role
 

Job Title: Electrical Engineer Intern                                                                                      Department: Engineering

Reports to: Engineering Manager                                                                                           FLSA (Exempt / Non Exempt): Exempt


Job Summary: Engineering team seeks an intern who can help with engineering design work related to electronics of our flow meters and pump products. This work includes design and testing of concepts and prototypes to ultimately produce a manufacturable and saleable product. Research of new technologies will be performed to innovate new product designs.

Job Details:

· Learn Circuit board theory (schematic, PCB layout, etc)

· Read and write circuit board specifications to communicate design intent to/from others.

· Test and root cause prototype designs in an engineering lab to meet product specs, including hands on experience with test equipment (voltmeter, current meter, oscilloscope, function generators).

· Work with flow measurement theory across a variety of flow technologies

· Opportunities exist to learn our pump products and make improvements; such as improving efficiency and adding wireless interfaces

Job Qualifications:

Required

· Currently pursuing University or Trade School degree in Electrical Engineering.

· Ability to communicate (written and verbal) with leaders, teammates and manufacturing employees in a professional and collaborative manner.

· Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

· Excellent computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS office products

· Strong aptitude in the comprehension of technical processes

· Familiarity at reading and interpreting electronics schematics

Preferred

· Schematic capture and PCB layout experience.

· Familiarity with standard electronics lab equipment: Power Supplies, DVM, O-scope, and Logic Analyzer.

· Entry level experience in firmware code development and debugging using In Circuit Emulators (ICE).


Job Requirements:

Physical:

· Physical: Ability to lift 25lbs minimum

· Must be able to wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses and other PPE equipment as required for work in Engineering Lab.

· Ability to safety reach, stretch, bend and lift parts and product from a standing position


Tools / Equipment: Engineering Lab equipment.

Working Conditions: 1st shift in Engineering Lab and standard office
