HDR is looking for a summer 2026 Electrical Intern candidate to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Walnut Creek, CA.

The Electrical Intern will gain real-world experience on exciting projects. These projects may include water/wastewater facilities, pumping facilities, building distribution systems, and/or campus distribution systems. The intern will perform routine electrical engineering assignments under the supervision of electrical engineers and design professionals.

In the role of Electrical Intern, we'll count on you to:

Perform assignments by applying electrical engineering techniques and procedures toward design of low-voltage distribution systems.
Assist in development and preparation of electrical engineering plans and specifications.
Assist with electrical engineering calculations.
Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to electrical engineering: Software packages include SKM Power tools for Windows, EasyPower, Etap, Matlab, and Visual Basic preferred.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
Attention to detail
Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office skills
